Ontario's Ministry of Labour has announced that its four-month enforcement health and safety blitz will pay particular attention to the safety of young and new workers across the province. Government sources report that young and new workers in the province are four times more likely to be injured during the first month on the job than at any other time. The main focus will be on workplaces that employ many young and new workers, including restaurants, golf courses, camps, and temporary amusement parks among others.
