December 12 2011
In November, the CTHRC met with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) in Ottawa to discuss how the CTHRC could be involved in the ACCC’s CARICOM Education for Employment Project (C-EFE). Still in its formative stage, this regional program is CIDA-funded and co-designed, and aims to the reduce unemployment and poverty levels by strengthening the technical and vocational training systems of twelve CARICOM countries in various industry sectors including tourism. The ACCC and CTHRC agreed to continue partnership discussions on how the Council’s experience in developing Labour Market Intelligence, emerit Occupational Standards, Training and Certification could advance the C-EFE project.
